Our little baby is no longer a baby. Grace Elizabeth turned two years old on January 2nd. She says she is three. Pronouncing it, "free". Then she laughs. I think she is teasing us. Problem is I don't know for sure. I mean, I know she is two. But does she? Anyway, after saying, "free", she points all of her fingers towards you. It goes like this: (me) "Grace, how old are you"? (Grace) "Free", giggle, giggle. Then the fingers come at you all touching the thumb to make a point. It happens every time. That is whats cool about being two. You can say your three (free) and get away with it. Cause it is cute.
She also loves to say, "princess". She absolutely loves anything with a princess on it. So, Terri bought her princess cupcakes for her birthday. As you can see from the pictures the frosting was well, annoying. Here face was stained for like two days. They definately weren't very tasty but she loved them because they had princesses on them.
Happy Birthday Grace, we love you!

Basketball

Jacob just started playing basketball in Novemeber 2008 in the YMCA league and really, really loves it. And, of course, we really love watching him play. He handles the ball pretty well but had some difficulty shooting during the games. He says its because the guys are defending him to close and he is afraid to shoot the ball. Coach got him pretty hard one game because he had so many opportunities to shoot. But no, no shots from Jacob. I had a talk with him after the game and told him the only way he would ever make a basket is if he just shot the ball. And, if he missed, oh well.

For Christmas this year, Jacob ended up getting a fairly nice basketball hoop and backboard for the driveway. It seems to have made a big difference in his game. Last Saturday, January 10th, he ended up shooting the ball about eight times and made six. 12 points from zero the rest of the games. His confidence has soared. Not only did he do well shooting but he handled the ball very well and ended up making quite a few rebounds, steals and passes to his team mates. It was a very fun game to watch. His last game is this Saturday and then we are enrolling him in Spring Basketball again at the YMCA. It will be the same coach; he is very good with the kids. There will probably not be as many of the same kids on his team because it will conflict with baseball and soccer. For Jacob, its all about basketball though. He said he wanted to play it again this Spring instead of the other sports. He likes the other sports but again, for Jacob, its all about basketball. Coach Banks knows Jacob likes the Utah Jazz and so he sometimes calls him, John Stockton. Jacob thinks that is pretty cool. Someday he wants to play for the Jazz. Someday we want him to play for the Jazz too!
